360pi’s Top 2016 Commerce Insights & What’s In Store for 2017

As 2016 comes to a close, 360pi looks back at some of our most recognized product and pricing insights of the year, and forward to the year to come.


As 2016’s holiday rush comes to an end along with 360pi’s widely subscribed Holiday Insights report series, we take a retrospective on what we observed this year in terms of retail product and pricing behaviors, and what to expect from 360pi in 2017.

Top Commerce Insights of 2016

360pi is honored to be listed as a one of the top stories of 2016 that spotlights out-of-the-box engagement strategies by Retail TouchPoints. In early July, 360pi released a report on Amazon’s Prime Day that took a deeper look at the importance of Amazon’s marketplace sellers. It was found that Amazon marketplace seller deals dominated Prime Day and nearly twice as many small business sellers participated compared to 2015. To read the full report, download it here.

In addition, 360pi’s insights were highlighted in TWICE Magazine’s 2016 Retail Retrospective. The article featured data from 360pi’s Amazon Product Count infographic released back in May which provided details on how many products Amazon offers for sales with and without marketplace sellers.

More recently, this past November we wondered how much Amazon ramped up their product assortment for the holidays. 360pi found that within the short time span, Amazon grew its product count by 18%, going from 367,941,957 products in its assortment in May 2016 to an astonishing 435,502,793 in November 2016. Voted as Leader in Product and Price Intelligence

This year, not only did the press take note of our insights and commerce analytics, but our customers did as well! As announced earlier this month, 360pi is honored to have been voted by our own customers to the RIS Software LeaderBoard for the fourth consecutive year. Over the years, 360pi’s presence on the LeaderBoard has grown from three top 10 rankings in 2013 to seventeen in 2016 and we continue to be the only product and pricing intelligence vendor to receive this recognition.

This year, we are especially humbled to have received three #1 LeaderBoard placements and recognition as a Leader in Technology Innovation!
