Amazon Holiday Insights Report – Bedding and Bath

Well aware of last year’s success in this category, we analyzed a sample of SKUs in bedding and bath to see if this year’s holiday deals held up.

Did you know that Walmart’s record-breaking announcement from Black Friday 2013 wasn’t their 1.4 million tablets sold, but rather their 29 cent towel doorbuster? According to Walmart, they sold 2.8 million towels, proving that Black Friday isn’t just about checking off those last few items from your holiday wish list, but also largely factors into home preparations for the holidays.

Well aware of last year’s success in this category, we were curious to see if this year’s holiday deals on bedding and bath held up. Between October 1st and November 11th, we compiled pricing for a sample of over 4,000 SKUs in Amazon’s assortment of bedding and bath, before shipping, for available products only. We then compared prices with other leading housewares retailers who carry the same products: Bed, Bath & Beyond, Hayneedle, Target, Walmart, and Wayfair.
