Good News for Retailers

Dr. Stephan Liozu discusses the predictions of various retail pricing experts about what's in store for the holidays this year, specifically Black Friday.

October numbers are in. There is hope for the US economy as retail sales grew 0.4% in October 2013. That is a good sign for the holiday season and a sign of the resilience of the US economy. Based on this nugget of good news, some retail experts predict a surprisingly good holiday season, despite an earlier doom and gloom consensus. Other experts are predicting some surprises in how both online and brick-and-mortar retailers will perform during this holiday season. There is hope out there and October showed that brick-and-mortar retailers can hold their own and grow. With the right business models and the right technology in place, they are able to compete against their online rivals. The race is on. Black Friday is around the corner. Let us knock it out of the park!
